An iPhone 11 Pro Max was pierced by a stray bullet. Despite the damage caused, and the huge hole in the middle of the AMOLED screen, the Apple smartphone still works. The bullet apparently passed right by vital components, such as the battery.
This Tuesday, December 3, 2019, the photo of an iPhone 11 Pro Max, Apple's latest top of the range, marked by a huge hole in the slab, appeared on the social network Reddit. Incredible but true, the screen of the smartphone still continues to work and display the window asking for the password.
The photo was apparently uploaded by a technician working at Apple or at some retailer. “The customer had every right to claim compensation after this accident. Apparently he was at a party and he was hit by a stray bullet. They started shooting at him and his phone was in his hand when the bullet went through it,” explains the internet user. “Either this is the real story, or he was using it to practice shooting at a target” adds the author of the publication with humor. It is obviously impossible to know for sure what happened to this iPhone.

As many people on Reddit point out, the survival of the iPhone is a nice fluke. The bullet apparently passed right next to the 3174 mAh battery and the motherboard. Otherwise, the iPhone would have been completely unusable. On the other hand, the bullet probably tore off the triple rear photo sensor and part of the sensors necessary for Face ID facial recognition. The Internet user does not specify whether the smartphone was finally repaired.
