No, lipstick is not dead! The pandemic has certainly weakened him, for a time, relegated to the background by wearing a mask, but he has not said his last word. It's even making a comeback in its boldest version, an orange that won't go unnoticed this summer. It remains to be seen if he will really be able to appear in front of the world, or if he will be content to be the star of the most beautiful pictures posted on social networks.
The global pandemic was however at the origin of a return to naturalness, with a complexion worked, but not overloaded, lips all in shine, but not tinted, and a more marked look, but without extravagance. A return to essentials directly linked to confinement, the generalization of telework, but also the obligation to wear a mask in public spaces. Why achieve a sophisticated makeover that no one will notice? So what does this return to a color as vibrant as orange mean? The end of the epidemic… hard to imagine. We would bet rather on a need for optimism, freshness, cheerfulness, in response to a period that is gloomy to say the least.
Let's be clear, these orange lips, these looks full of pep, and these daring beauty enhancements, do good, encourage dreams and escape. We know the impact of vibrant colors on morale!
Followed by nearly 14,000 people on Instagram, Afnan Dano recently won unanimous support with an ultra-vitamin look, neon orange, from eyelids to lips. A photo that is conducive to making people forget this complicated period… at least for a few seconds.
TikTok is no slouch; the influencers follow one another to present their favorite orange lipstick, from pastel to neon via orange reds... The views concerning the hashtag "#orangelipstick" are counted in the hundreds of thousands, and the orange lipstick appears in many videos dedicated to the trends of this spring 2021.
With this spring inspiration, one wonders if the ultra-pigmented is about to return to the front of the stage after months of absence. Not only are brands emphasizing pigmented lipsticks and glosses on social media, but beauty influencers seem to have grown tired of natural highlights gradually returning to bolder looks. Something usually reserved for the fall-winter season, but which portends a summer of all extravagances. It remains to be seen whether everyone will be able to experience it fully.
