For us, at UNO, it is our duty to offer masks to our customers: this is why, from May 14, 2020, we offered masks to our customers in our store in Bab Ezzouar, Algiers.
We highlight fabric masks, lined, positioned well on the face to protect the nose and mouth. The key advantage of these masks is that they are reusable 15 to 30 times, since they can be washed at 60°. A use between washing therefore costs between 6 and 12 DA (Price of the mask around 180 DA, depending on the model). According to studies* and international standards, fabric masks provide good protection against the Covid-19 coronavirus, even if they are not as effective as those reserved for healthcare personnel.
But we are also offering, from this weekend and in all our stores, disposable masks, at cost price, of course, since they are part of our commitment to support all our customers to live this difficult period as well as possible: 95 DA set of 2

UNO strongly reminds, however, that wearing a mask should never replace the barrier gestures essential to stopping this pandemic: regular hand washing with soap and water, or hydroalcoholic gel, respect for distances between people, sneezing into a tissue, avoiding eating uncooked or undercooked meat, avoiding contact with animals (Ministry of Health, World Health Organization).
This is why, in all our stores and since the start of the pandemic, all these instructions have been respected, including the wearing of face masks by our teams. The hydroalcoholic gel is offered to our customers upon their arrival (and of course available for sale). A shoe disinfection mat and temperature measurement are also in place at reception, for everyone's peace of mind.
Jean Charretteur, General Management: “Since the beginning of the health crisis, all our teams have been mobilized to continue to provide our fellow citizens with essential food and hygiene products. Our clean, wide aisle stores, with everything you need in one place, are the safest places to shop. We had to be the first to offer our customers protective masks for the general public. »
Hakim Turki, Quality & Hygiene Director: “The fabric masks, made according to current standards, effectively complete the barrier gestures essential to protect yourself and others. This is why, moreover, our teams are all equipped with them. It was logical to also offer them to our customers, provided that they comply with recognized standards. »
