Consultation at 30 euros, doubling of the number of trained caregivers and greater hospital autonomy: Valérie Pécresse revealed her health priorities in an interview published this Friday in the "Quotidien du Médecin", ahead of a visit to Oyonnax on the subject.
“It is madness to consider it normal for the consultation to cost 25 euros. I therefore wish it to be revalued to 30 euros, of course without impact for the rest to be borne by the patients, ”says presidential candidate LR. "When there is too great a difference between daily prices and doctors' prices, there is inevitably a loss of consideration which is felt by these caregivers", she justifies.
According to her, it is also necessary to "revalue specialized medicine" and "pay more for consultations carried out in emergencies". “The price of technical acts has not changed for almost 15 years. How can we justify that a private surgeon is paid 170 euros for appendicitis? “, she comments.
Expected in the afternoon in Oyonnax where she is to visit the hospital center and meet health actors, she promises to launch "three major causes" if elected. First “mental health”, especially that of adolescents, with “priority to de-stigmatization and research” and the creation of a “National Institute of Mental Health”.
"Depressions have greatly increased, the mental health of children is an unthought today, that of adolescents must be put at the heart of public policy", pleads the candidate.
Her two other major causes would be pediatric cancers, with, in the event of hospitalization, the creation of a leave for parents who would keep their salary, and women's health, for which she envisages mother-child consultations and a "limitation of VAT to 2.1%" on periodic protection. “I will also propose that very painful periods can be the subject of leave on medical advice,” adds the former minister.
Candidate LR also promises to "double the number of trained caregivers" with "nearly 20,000 new doctors trained per year, by the end of the five-year term “, and repeats his idea of” an additional year of training “for general practitioners, “which will be exercised in nursing homes” and will concern “3,800 young doctors”.
"You no longer need a consultation, hospital care or emergency service less than 30 minutes from your home," adds Valérie Pécresse, who plans to "halve" the average average waiting time for an appointment. you medical.

Pécresse, what is the difference with Macron?
Denouncing “a decade of health accounting management that has brought our system to its knees”, it promises “a new stage of hospital autonomy” to “entrust broad responsibilities” to department heads.
Finally, to make the health professions more attractive, she pleads for a State-local authority alliance to "provide concrete solutions in terms of housing, transport, crèche and even security". It is also necessary, according to her, to allow the takeover of RTT to “give back purchasing power to caregivers”, and to retain an aggravating circumstance in the event of aggression against health professionals.
